So, Dave and I are talking about maybe moving into a small apartment in Ohio to save money. Since we're only living there for 18 months, it wouldn't be too much of a sacrifice, but... it means moving back to an apartment. We're thinking about it. Any input?

If you can find a good apartment, then it won't be so bad. It might seem like torture, but I would probably do it, cause I am cheap.
That is what we are doing. We are planning on being in our apt for a year than getting a house. We don't have kiddos though :)
We're contemplating doing something similar the next time we move (April/May) and saving up for a down payment on a house. I will sorely miss having a house (we're renting one now), but if it will get us ahead in the long run, I'm willing to stick it out for a year or two. It's a hard decision to make.
